I'm a Loser Baby

Being a "loser" in the eyes of the world is a very easy thing to do. If you wear the wrong things, or say somehting that peopel don't like to hear or give to the poor or something, you are considered to be a "loser." The world isn't everything though. There is something a whole lot better than the world, and that is Jesus. Having said that Jesus is better, what would Jesus say to the same situation. I guarantee that he wouldn't call you a "loser" I don't even think that word is in His vocabulary but I am fairly sure that He would say "Back off World. You have no hold on them because they ae mine and they are beautiful, loved, and prescious in my eyes." The world would scoff at this, and keep trying to persude you to become a "winner" for the world or just stay a loser. To be a winner in the world is to be rich and famous and have everything for yourself, but didn't Jesus say "Blessed are those that have few for they will be given much"? Think about it. Who is it better to be a winner for?

Having said that, what is considered a "winner" in the eyes of God? Well, I'm not going to presume I know what God you say about it but to me being a winner for God... is like what Jesus did. You help the poor and the needy and spread God's word and bring other peopel to the Lord. This won't get you into Heaven, and asking Him to come and be your savior is definatly part of being a "winner" for God, but I think being a winner involes helping peopel and teaching them the ways of the Lord.

After that, can I ask a question. How do you feel when you d things like that? Probably good inside. But what if you are having the most rotten day in teh world where everything just seems to be going wrong? How do you feel then? Well, what if you were on a team of somesort and you had the biggest game ever and the other team was really strong and really good, and you knew you were just going to get killed. Then suddenly, Jesus comes and joins your team and turns it into a massacre for the other team. How would you feel then. A bad day which suddenly turns into a good day beyond belief. I feel great after days like that. As if nothing could be better. What about you?

Sleepy Saints

There are manyu Christians today who do not understand the goodness or the power of God. In that, the move away from Him and gradually become more and more distant until they can no longer even remember what He is like. Then they jsut drift along on a woeful life with nothing to do or say to anyone with no faith, for they have lost their own. What if this was true for everyone? What if noone had the Holy Spirit living in them or Jesus to save them? It would be a really empty world, let me tell you. Without God in our lives, there is really no point in getting up everyday and doing things, because without God, they are all meaningless and we can't even do things right without the help of God so they would also be failures. Think about it... What would your life be without God. Mine would be a meaningless dump.
After having said this, I want to ask you a question that my pastors askes my congrigation offened. "If being a Christians was against the law, would there be enough evidence to convict you?" This question is a pretty steep one and it had... haunted me for a long time. It has done this because for me, i am not sure of the answer. Would I be convicted? Would they not see Him through me and let me go because He does not seem to be in me? I am unsure of the answer and it troubles me, but what about you? Do you know the answer? Would you be set free or would you go to jail as a believer? What do your family and friends say about it? I don't know what mine say, but what abut you? Do people tell you that they can see Him working through you?
This is a very important question with a very important answer to your life. It also helps us to stay "spiritually awake" in the Lord so our fire for Him does not extinguish. How can we nake sure of this though? How can we stay awake for the Lord? Even in Luke in the garden of Gasemene the disciples fell asleep because they are just as worldly as we are. We have to stay awake in the Lord though, and a good way to do that is to pray. Jesus asked his disciples to pray with Him to stay awake, and this is what we must do.

I bet you didn't even know you were corrupt

Interesting point of view Pastor Paul. I agree with it none the less. We are being influenced at every turn and corner in our lives by every single person we meet. Even peopel we just pass by on the street. We are mostly influenced by the poeple whom we intereact with but there is still influence. We don't really have a say in that though. We are influenced by people all around us, espicially commercials and things on Tv and on the radio. WE hear and see things that in years past would not be allowed to be discussed, and we talk about and even do things that would be frowned upon and regected in years long gone. It is all okay though now, and I find that very disturbing. Our society has been changed and molded to suit the world's views more and more and now we are feeding those views directly to the children of the world and they do not know it is wrong so they have no protection against it. Influence is all over the place, and it is not nessecarily good. Most of the time it is negative.
We also have the factor of friendship though. Have you ever really studied your friends when they are talking to you? Just to see hoe they react to certain things? What do they even talk about? Do they talk about things that would be pleasing to God? If not cna I ask you a question? Why are they your friends. The Lord said in the bible that you should not be unequally yoked. I know that this verse is talking about marriage and that you should not marry an unbeliever, but what if you applied it to friends? How many friends would you have left if you did? PRobably not as many.
I am not tellign you that friends are bad or that you should only have christian friends, the lord God told us that we need to to love all and try to bring everyone to Him but we must not let our characters  be changed by those who have yet to believe.

Patricia King : What God is saying for 2012 - response

This was a very interesting video with a very interesting point of view. It is intitled "Patricia King : What God is saying for 2012?" and is an interview with Patricia King. This video talks about what will happen in 2012 and it talks about five things that will happen and what to pray for. I'm not sure I believe it all though. It sounded kind of like a commercial or even an infomercial to me. It kept talking about things that they were selling. There are some parts that I did agree with though. Such as when she talked about how there would be more children at risk and things such as this. I agree with that because children and and will become more at risk. She also talked about going into a new era. I am not too sure that I believe her for that one. Then she goes on to talk about how it will be a good exciting era and I also disagree with her there. I think that we are going into a new period of time inwhich everything will start to change and stuff but I am having a hard time believing that it will be a "great nrew era."
She did have some pretty good points about praying for the children and how children are at risk. Also about howw the world economy and things like that will start to disolve, but I still don't know if I agree with her.

Devil Got Your Tongue?

The triple filter is a very interesting point of view. It is a good way to see if something is really worth saying but also if you should say it. There are many things that should not be said, and if everyone used the triple filter the world would be a lot different. Lots of mean and negative things would not be said and many things that are said just in boredom who not be said for the sake of hearing one's on voice. The world would be a much different place if everyone used truth, goodness, and usefulness (the triple filter) to filter their conversations. Most peopel though, would not give this any thought. They would still say negative things about friends and the world would continue to be lost. What if we did though? What if I do it, and you do it, and someone else does it, and soon, everyone is doing it! Wouldn't that be cool? What if you did? Think of a conversation in which you didn't use the filter and then add it in. I've had one of these conversations with a friend of mine. I said that she could be bossy and mean sometimes and sometimes she was downright nasty. What if I filtered this though? Let's see...1.  It was true, my friend can be like that sometimes, but more times than not, they is not like that. 2. What I sais about my friend swasn't very good, so I would have failed in the second coloum, and 3. it wasn't neither useful nor nessecary to anything related to anything when I said it, so I would have failed the filter. With only 1 point right, accorsing to the filter this conversation should never have happened and in reality, it shouldn't.

This can prove a problem for us sometimes though. Sometimes, peopel are scared or ashamed of what they have said or done and they find it hard to ask for forgiveness or talk about it. This also sometimes plagues me. If I say something about one of my friends, it is hard to tell them what I did or said. It is very hard to face your friends and family if you talk about them and it can really be hurting for them and even ruin your friendships. it still happened though, so you have to go back and make it right.

Having said that, what would Christ say about it? If you could see Him standing beside you, would you say that same things? Well, He is you know. He is with you all the time and you can never run away from him. He is everywhere. So, does what you say want to be hidden from God, or are you ok with him hearing it? Many peopel don't have the same conversations if they think about it that way. What about you though? When you talk do you show that you have Christ in you? I try but it is hard because our human nature tells us to be mean and gruesome but we have to ignore than and do what Jesus wants us to do. We have to show Christ though everything we do and say. It is very hard and most peopel struggle with it. Especially me. I try to show Jesus through what Í say and do but it is hard and it is not easy to do. It even can be embarassing for us because of what other peopel think. It doesn't depend on them though. It depends on God.

crybabies

As Christians, the Holy Spirit is a very important part of our lifestyles and our lives ingeneral. When we accept Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes and lives in us. This is love. Love from Jesus and love from the Holy Spirit. Love from Jesus for sending the Holy Spirit, because without Him, we would continually do bad things and never try or even want to foloow God's will. And love on the part of the Holy Spirit to come and live in us and know us fully and completely when to most peopel that is a fightening concept. This is love. How would you feel if someone loved you like that? I feel special. I appreciate that someone would do that for me to help me and to teach me things and it is nice to know that there is someone who does.

And with the Holy Spirit in us, that gives us a direct line to talk with Jesus. Jesus knows all about us and in our troubles and dark times, He is there with us waiting for us to call to him so he can come and help us. That, for me, is definatly reassuring. To have the Creator of everything come to help and who is waitign to help whenever I need it is definatly reassuring. With that said, how does this reassuring come into play when I need help? That is an easy one. You call unto the Lord and he will hear you and bring aid to you. He will help you when you call. So, why not call?

God loves us so much that when Jesus died on the cross, we all gained the right to be called the "Sons and Daughters of God." That is a big title, but unlike the title "King or Queen" it doesn't mean we have to be all fancy and treat others lower than ourselves. On the contrary, it means we have to put ourselves lower than others so that they can know Jesus too. Jesus loves us more that we will ever know, and in that we can see how much God cares. God loves and cares for us more than anything else and he knows everythign that we are. He created us and loves us more than we even know, and how do we return this love? It says in the bible to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and ming and soul and strength." This is the greatest commandment and this is how we should show our love to Him. To love Him with all we have in us.

Clueless

There are many people in this Earth who are afraid to ask questions. Not only questions about church and God and the bible, but about everyday things. I have been asking around at my church and such if a turtle is a reptile or and anphibian but I keep getting different answers. This will happen. Lots of people willl have different answers to the same question according to their opinion, but this should not shake you from asking questions. One of the biblical questions that I have is "since God is in Jesus and Jesus is in God as it says in the book of John, why doesn't Jesus know when he is to return?" also if God knew man would sin and pretty much destroy the earth, why did he create it? These are questions that I have. They are not threatening to anyone, they are just genuine questions.

Some people disapprove of this though. Some people think that asking a question that might challange or even appear to challange God is a sin. I do not believe this is true. I think that each question is important to God and that he is delighted when we ask questions. God created us and he loves it when we learn, so why wouldn't we be able to ask a question to the creator?

There are some people in this world that  would think I am atrosious for even proposing that this might be possible and that is what they believe, but I believe that asking questions are very important for us to do. Sometimes, people ask me about it and í tell them what í just wrote here, I think God likes it when he ask questions and that they should. They shouldn't ask questions that are insulting to God but we should ask questions that shall increase our learning. It is important. I can prove to be a problem though, because sometimes, they ask questions that should be asked to God. They also ask them to me! That is a fatal mistake mainly because I don't know the answers and will give a wrong answer. Sometimes the questions are simple that I can answer such as, "Why did Jesus die?" To that I answer "He died becuase we have sinned and God loved us so much so he sent Jesus as a way out for us to die on the cross and give us a way." There are questions I can answer and questions I can't.
